Types of Work Schedules

- Standard: A standard work schedule is a typical work schedule most of the business professionals follow. Usually, from Monday to Friday and between 9.00 am to 5 pm, it often referred to as a 9-5 work schedule.
- Fixed: Fixed work schedule is similar to a standard work schedule. But with alternative work time options, for example from Tuesday to Saturday from 10–6 pm.
- Full Time: In a full-time work schedule, employees work for 35-40 hours works a week, eight to nine hours a day, 6 hrs a day. The days don’t matter, just the total number of hours is calculated.
- Part-Time: Freelancers often follow this type of work schedule. Here employees work for fewer hours than full time. They may not work regularly.
- Shift: Such types of work schedule happens when a business runs for more than 10 hours of 24*7. Generally, there are three shifts, such as early morning (7 am to 3 pm), Afternoon Shift (3 pm to 11 pm), and the night shift (11 pm to 7 am).
- Freelance: Freelance work schedule is the newest in the business. Here the work is done on a contract basis. A freelancer can do work any time he wishes, but the works need to be submitted on time.
- Unpredictable: An unpredictable work schedule change over time to time and sometimes weekly. Such type of work schedules is difficult to follow for both employees and employers. Many governments have prohibited an unpredictable work schedule pattern.
- Seasonal: These types of work schedules happen where a business operates for only a few months in a year. A seasonal work schedule starts during summer vacations (June, July, August) and in winter (November and December).

Creating an Effective Work Schedule
